Dr NJ Arachchi has expertise in managing wide variety of liver diseases including long term management of cirrhosis. He has conducted research in viral hepatitis at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne. He was the clinical lead in Hepatology at Western Health, Melbourne from 2015-2018.
Dr Arachchi is a qualified and accredited endoscopist in gastroscopy and colonoscopy since 2007. He performs more than 1500 procedures a year. He has ongoing accreditation with Australian Conjoint Committee for training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He participate in regular quality assurance activities in colonoscopy performance.
Fibroscan is a non invasive method of measure the amount of fibrosis (scarring) in the liver. Dr Arachchi has expertise and access to performing Fibroscans . He has performed more than 3000 Fibroscans,
Dr Arachchi has expertise in management in Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, microscopic colitis and celiac disease. This is an area he is actively increasing his interests and management skills.
Dr Arachchi is a dual trained general physician and a gastroenterologist. He is interested in consulting wide variety of Gastrointestinal and liver related symptoms and illness. Sometime these symptoms may not conform to a unique diagnosis at first. Dr Arachchi would welcome the challenge of exploring and management of undefined medical conditions which may be related to GI tract.
Dr Arachchi is a dual trained general physician and a gastroenterologist. He is specially interested in management of complex inpatient GI and liver disorders. Patients who require inpatient care can organized at St Vincent's private Hospital, Werribee or Western Private Hospital at Footscray
